Open a world of accessible books for students who are neurodiverse using the EasyReader app and CELA. Jessica Desormeaux from the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) will talk about CELA and the collections and services offered to students and educators. Then, MJ Barry from Dolphin will demonstrate how students and educators can explore required reading books, textbooks through Bookshare titles in CELA’s collection and leisure reading materials. In May 2023, CELA launched our new service, which uses the new Envoy Connect audiobook player to read books in CELA’s collection. This webinar provides a basic introduction to the Envoy Connect player, a portable, affordable and easy-to-use device. This webinar is for anyone who prefers listening to audiobooks using self-contained players with a tactile interface, rather than through computers, smart phones or tablets. Susan Vida, Technical Support Specialist for CELA, demonstrates how she uses VoiceOver with EasyReader. She’ll demonstrate how to get the app, sign in, find and listen to books.
