Centre for Equitable Library Access Public library service for Canadians with print disabilities
Thank you for contacting us with your title suggestion. Please read the following before submitting.
Like a public library, CELA evaluates all title suggestions using selection criteria, with the goal of curating a collection that meets the diverse reading needs of our users. For the full list of selection criteria, please see the Collection Development plan. For businesses that can produce audiobooks or braille on demand, reach out to PAL Reading Services or Braille Jymico.
CELA prioritizes selecting books published within the last 5 years; titles available commercially or in an accessible version; and/or are Canadian in content. Older titles may be difficult or unavailable to source.
Popular and bestselling authors are more than likely to be already selected.
Please note that we only accept self-published titles written from the perspective of someone with lived experiences relating to disability.
It can take 2-3 weeks to evaluate a title suggestion. If a title is selected for the collection, it could be 2-3 weeks up to 6 months, after evaluation, for the title to be made available, depending on resources and where the title is sourced.
To follow-up on any suggestions, please reach out the CELA Contact Centre: help@celalibrary.ca or 1-855-655-2273. We are unable to reach out to every individual regarding their title suggestion(s).
We accept up to three suggestions per day per person.
