The Cuban author presents twenty-two stories and fables taken from Afro-Cuban folklore. The stories provide an insight into the spontaneity, humor, mythology, magic, and language of Afro-Cuban culture and feature figures such as Jicotea (Turtle), Venado (Deer), and Obaogo (Creator).… The prologue includes biographical notes on the author and a critique of her work. Spanish language
