Summary
A twenty-year-old fired postal worker in India opts for a simpler way of life and takes up residence in a tree. Sampath is followed by his family, who refuse to abandon him, and by villagers who flock to him for… wisdom, which they do not realize he has gained from reading their mail. Soon he is even joined by a band of monkeys, and the orchard is no longer a quiet retreat.
