It is the late 1970s, and nineteen-year-old Innis Corbett is deported from his home near Boston for car theft and returned to his mother's birthplace on Cape Breton Island to stay with his uncle Starr. Desperate to get away, Innis… starts to grow a secret cash crop of marijuana and looks for a car to steal.
