Au total, environ 3000 expressions réparties sous à peu près 80 sections thématiques (depuis "Abus de confiance" jusqu'à "Vieillesse" et "Violence"). Parmi les expressions recueillies et qui, selon l'auteur, "n'ont de modèle nulle part ailleurs", on retrouve des tournures (jusqu'à deux par page) très courantes en France: un gros plein de soupe (p. 146), mets toi ça dans le ciboulot (p. 146), libre comme l'air (p. 134), etc. Petits péchés d'enthousiasme qui n'entachent pas trop la fiabilité de cet ouvrage destiné au grand public.
