생각에 간단한 실험에 자발적으로 동참한 주인공 라이커. 하지만 가학적인 의사들은 라이커를 마루타로 삼아, 인질로 잡힌 카에올레이아인, 세랄 이오플라스의 피를 라이커의 몸에 주입하고, 그를 카에올레이아 행성으로 보낸다. 인간을 발견하는 즉시 사살하는 카에올레이아 사람들이지만, 라이커의 몸에 주입된 카에올레이아 동족의 피 덕붙에 라이커는 순수한 인간도 아닌, 그렇다고 카에오레이아인도 아닌 존재로 인식하게 된다. 라이커는 그렇게 즉시 사살을 간신히 면하지만, 실험을 통해 의도치 않게 형성된 세랄 이오플라스와의 피의 결합(본딩) 때문에 라이커는 인간의로써의 정체성에 혼동을 느낀다. 설상가상으로 세랄를 향한 알 수 없는 욕망과 감정을 주체할 수 없는데...
