Résumé
A fact-filled history of the Eaton's store and its founding family, told through interviews with former staff and archival research. In its heyday, entire homes and their contents could be ordered through the Eaton's catalogue; clerks were frequently on a… first-name basis with customers; men who left to fight during World War II were given their jobs back when they returned. But by the 1990s, the company was battered, bleeding, perceived as unhip, and was finally closed in 1999, but not before its history was entwined with that of Canada. 2002.
